A TRUE STORY...

I'm Mark Grote, and I invented GripBlades™ while working on a custom car project. A 1942 Series 75 Fleetwood Formal Sedan, Cadillac. (That's me with the car below).

I needed to cut out a carburetor gasket, and the common utility blade was the natural go-to because it offers the best control. However, using it caused me so much pain from the pressure of my fingers pressing in on the top side of the blade... If you use these blades, you know exactly what I mean. By the time I was done cutting out that gasket, my fingers were sore and cut-up from the back of the blade. We all deal with the pain from this specific type of blade, because it is the best choice for a lot of projects.  It's a "No Pain - No Gain" situation.

SO I GOT TO THINKING...

Enough is enough! I decided to solve the problem by making a comfortable, rubberized grip on the top of the blade. It would have to be permanent, so it was safe and secure. This grip would not only ease the pain on my fingers and thumb, but it would also make the blade more stable to hold and use, a lot safer, and bring pleasure back to artists, crafters, and workers who use this type of blade on their own projects.
